The synergy created when two or more committed people get together powers coaching. Synergy is the principle that says: the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. We become much more intelligent, creative, playful, and effective working together.

Every client of mine is smart, but they value coaching for the synergy. Coaching creates a climate for improvement that can only be created in partnership. Partnership creates new possibilities. New possibilities, clear focus, and increased energy lead to great results. You become smarter and more effective in this unique partnership.

What Does a Coach Do?

I create an environment where profound improvement can take place.

I act as a partner, a confidant, and an advocate for your best self.

I coach you in setting goals to achieve specific observable results. For instance, wanting to have more money is a goal, but is that goal achieved if I give you one dollar, one hundred dollars, or a thousand dollars? Is it really money you want? Not usually. What lies behind the desire for money and the material trappings of the "good life"? Do you want to be at peace? Do you want freedom? Do you want accomplishment? We ferret out the real goal and set it.

We make sure you are taking good care of yourself. Not just matching the norms. I like the term: Radical Self Care. Here are some common areas of concern:

  • Do you consistently have adequate time, space and freedom in your life?
  • Do you pay your bills on time?
  • Do you receive enough love and support from the people around you?
  • Do you have relationships that drag you down or damage you?
  • Do you eat sugar? Do you smoke? Do you use alcohol?
  • Do you watch more than five hours of television per week?
  • Does your level of energy satisfy you?

We identify areas of unmet needs you may not have been aware of and find healthy ways to satisfy them.

We identify areas of unrecognized strengths, acknowledge them, and put them to good use.

What Does the Coaching Format Look Like?

We have coaching sessions using the phone for the most part, so you can live anywhere and receive coaching. Commonly, we engage for 25-45 minutes in a weekly conversation. We look at specific results, plan actions, and create a life you wholeheartedly enjoy. It is adventure of the highest sort.

For decades I have been coaching my BodyTherapy clients. If you live locally, you can combine coaching with BodyTherapy in a variety of ways. Often we use e-mail to supplement or update our conversations.
